Course Description:
The Gospel narratives are full of references to people, events, and customs that are not present in the Old Testament. To understand who and what they are, Bible students need to understand where they came from. This class introduces attendees to the events that unfolded between Malachi 4:6 and Luke 1:1, and examines how they shaped the cultural and historical context of the Gospel narratives.
Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand how historical events shape the world of the gospels.
- Understand the origins of key cultural elements found in the gospel narratives.
- Identify the sovereign hand of God in Intertestamental history.
- Make accurate applications of God’s movement in their lives and the world today.
Duration - 1 week
Prerequisites:
None
